Why doesn't ZoomSafer work on a locked phone?

I have blackberry 8900.. what I don't like - if the phone is locked(which I have set to lock after 10 minutes of inactivity) the zoomsafer program does not turn on.

I would like to see it activated even if the phone is locked, and going one step further, if the auto speed detection can determine when your moving, it should be able to determine when you stop - thus turning itself off after a period of inactivity.

    Annie -

Thanks so much for your questions and don't be sad! The answers are:
    - We'd love to fully activate ZoomSafer on a locked BlackBerry but unfortunately the BlackBerry operating system doesn't allow us to do that. We like to believe the good news about this is you can't use your phone while it's locked either and ZoomSafer will start if you choose to unlock it!
    - On your second question, we actually made the design decision to not automatically stop ZoomSafer while using the GPS trigger on purpose. The primary reason is that driving is fundamentally a start and stop activity. We have several stories here about people who were looking at their email at a stoplight, someone honked behind them when the light turn, they started going without looking up and hit someone who had entered the street. We do not want to create a situation where users are encouraged/looking forward to using their devices at stop lights.

Lastly, I'm not sure if you noticed this but we are currently offering a free Beta version of our software that triggers off of Bluetooth. With this version, you can automatically activate and deactivate ZoomSafer based on whether a Bluetooth device (like a car kit) is on or off. If you don't have a Bluetooth car kit, we're offering a car charger that doubles as a Bluetooth token for triggering ZoomSafer! We're very excited about this version of ZoomSafer - if you're interested, go to our Bluetooth Beta page at zoomsafer.com.

Thanks again for your questions - keep them coming when you have them!

    Safe Driving,
    Mike
