I did notice today that the ZS app did not come on on my drive to lunch (probably 3-4 miles). I did have my BB locked, but it did come on on the way home (BB was locked as well). Not sure what happened the first time...but just wanted you to know.
Also, someone mentioned battery life....I have noticed this as well and thought it was just me. My battery isn't lasting the whole day like it usually does since I started using this app....fyi ;-)

Shari - Just the type of information we need. Couple of questions for you: what was your phone charge like in the morning? If it was really low, you might have been at risk of your GPS being shut down by the BB. (Maybe you charged it in the car on your way to lunch?).
As I mentioned in the other post, we're working hard to balance battery usage and speed sensing. I'm sure we don't have it totally right yet but following some steps like putting your phone on the plug-in charger at night have worked for us up here.

my battery was fully charged this morning so I guess it wasn't that and my phone isn't heavily used.
ZS didn't wear it down by itself, but my phone is never this low at barely 3pm. -

My problem also. And my battery is fully charged. Did they help?

I’m
balancing between saving battery life -- and human life
This is great feedback. We hear you loud and clear -- and we know that we need to do better. That said, because we query GPS for speed detection to automatically apply safe driving policies -- we will consume incremental battery resources -- and we'll never be as efficient as a phone without automatic safe driving policies applied. Safe driving is a complicated issue -- and we're doing our absolute best to deliver an auto-safe-driving-solution with minimal impact to traditional services -- such as battery life. That said, there is a trade off -- and there is a cost to automatically applying safe driving policies. I hope that makes sense. -

The battery life for my BB Storm was significantly reduced. My battery was nearly gone by mid day after having a full charge overnight. It usually lasts all day and more. I also noticed that the second day, ZS did not activate while I was driving, however the battery usage was the same as when it did activate. Due to this, I had to uninstall the program. I do not have a car charger and losing all battery life for the second half of my day is not acceptable. One further not about the uninstall. It did not remove all the sound files. I came across them by accident today and manually deleted them. Makes me wonder what other files might still be lingering on the device.
I do like the concept of the product, but the battery issue is a major obstacle for me.-
Steve - We're working hard on the battery life issue. Essentially what we've done is make it the worst possible drain here at the start. Now we're going to start testing out different ways to do speed detection that will give more battery life but might be a little less senstive / immediate on speed detection. Your Storm is turning out to be a particular challenge for us - my wife has one too and is experiencing the same type of drain.
On the uninstall, nice catch on the sound files, thanks. There's no other files out there besides the app that gets installed and the sound files. I'll work with the developers to see how we can delete those too.
Thanks again - we hope to have things in great shape for you in Phase 2.
